Commuters travelling through London Charing Cross railway station this morning are facing minor disruption due to a signalling issue affecting the station.
The fault has temporarily taken Platform 1 out of use, limiting operational capacity and causing knock-on delays across several routes.
Services running to and from Charing Cross, including those to Hayes (Kent), Dartford, Gravesend, Orpington, Sevenoaks, Strood, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone East, Hastings, Ore, Ashford International, Ramsgate and Dover Priory, may be revised or delayed by up to 10 minutes.
Rail operators expect the disruption to continue until approximately 08:30am, with engineers working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and check for live updates before travelling.
The congestion on the A12 has cleared.
Temporary eastbound service change at Barons Court
Until Sunday June 7, eastbound trains will not call at Barons Court.
If travelling eastbound from Barons Court: use westbound District or Piccadilly line trains and change at Hammersmith for eastbound services.
If travelling eastbound to Barons Court: continue to West Kensington (District line) or Earl’s Court (Piccadilly line), then change to westbound services.
IFS Cloud Cable Car providing a good service
The IFS Cloud Cable Car is currently providing a good service.
Minor delays on the Metropolitan line
Minor delays are occurring between Moor Park and Amersham / Chesham due to an earlier signalling problem.
The next southbound train from Chesham is expected at 08:39am.
Light delays around Ardleigh Green Road
Delays of 1–3 minutes are being reported on Ardleigh Green Road and Squirrels Heath Road approaching the A127.
Please allow extra time for your journey where possible.
A good service across the London Underground
There is currently a good service across all lines on the Underground.
Ashtead level crossing fault cleared but delays continue
Lines have now reopened after a fault at a level crossing at Ashtead.
Trains between Leatherhead and Wimbledon may still be delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised while services recover.
Disruption is expected until around 8am.
