Ducati’s Davide Tardozzi has responded to speculation linking Gresini with a move to Honda for the 2027 season.
With all current contracts set to expire in 2026, satellite teams are already considering their next steps.

While VR46 look likely to stay with Ducati despite being linked to Aprilia, Gresini’s future appears less certain.

Since joining forces with Ducati in 2022, Gresini have had a strong run, highlighted by finishing second in both the riders’ and teams’ standings last year.

But reports now suggest they could be moving over to Honda.

The financial demands of the new era could end up being too much for Gresini by then.

Ducati are preparing to supply factory bikes under the updated regulations, and the cost of that change might not fit within Gresini’s budget.

Honda is reportedly making a serious push to have Gresini join LCR as a satellite team as part of its plan to expand from four bikes to six.

While nothing is confirmed yet, discussions appear to be underway as Honda looks ahead three years.

Davide Tardozzi speaks on Gresini’s future and Honda’s interest

Gresini, at the moment, don’t have any bikes lined up for 2027.

They still haven’t reached an agreement with Ducati, and they don’t have any riders signed.

Alex Marquez is expected to make the move to KTM, and Fermin Aldeguer was recently confirmed to be joining VR46.

With those departures, Gresini could look very different in 2027 as Honda push for a partnership.

After the Brazilian Grand Prix, Tardozzi spoke to Sky Italia about the growing talk around Gresini’s future.

He made it clear that the team want to remain part of Ducati’s setup.

“We don’t want to lose them,” he said.

“They’re an excellent team, we’ll do everything we can to keep them with us, and I think they want to stay with Ducati.”

Tardozzi also spoke about the race, in which Aprilia took control once again.

Marco Bezzecchi won ahead of his teammate Jorge Martin, while Fabio Di Giannantonio was the top Ducati rider, finishing third.

“In terms of results, we’d like to react from Austin, not Jerez.

Aprilia deserves credit for working well and having two very fit riders,” he added.

“Marquez has never complained; if he says he’s not 100%, it means he’s lacking something; Bagnaia wasn’t feeling his best today, but he showed important signs both in testing and in the first two races.”
