Donald Trump has launched a bizarre rant at Bruce Springsteen, who he’s declared ‘looks like a dried up prune’.
During his speech, Springsteen declared: ‘While working Americans struggle, our president and his family enrich themselves by billions of dollars trading on the people’s office in corruption unmatched in American history.
This is happening now.’
‘This White House is destroying the American idea and our reputation around the world,’ he added.
‘The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America.
During his show on Tuesday night, Springsteen launched into four impassioned speeches, including one which saw him take aim at Trump and his administration.
‘We are living through some very dark times.
Our American values that have sustained us for 250 years are being challenged as never before.
We’ve got our young men and women’s lives at risk in an unconstitutional and illegal war.
This is happening now,’ he began.
‘There are immigrants being held in detention centers around the country and being deported without due process of law to alien countries and foreign gulags.
This is happening now.
‘Our Justice Department has completely abdicated its independence, and our attorney general, Pam Bondi, takes her marching orders straight from a corrupt White House.
She prosecutes our president’s perceived enemies, covers up for his misdeeds and protects his powerful friends.
This is happening now.’
He continued: ‘The richest men in America have abandoned the world’s poorest children through death and disease, through their dismantling of USAID.
This is happening now.
We are abandoning NATO and the world order that’s kept us safe and at global peace for 80 years.
This is happening now.
We threaten our neighbours and our allies whose sons and daughters have fought alongside us in American wars with the predatory annexation of their land.
This is happening now.’
He went on to say that museums were being told to ‘whitewash American history’ and declared the President ‘can’t handle the truth’.
Wrapping up his lengthy speech, Springsteen told his fans to continue to practice ‘honesty, honour, compassion and morality’ and said that while ‘elected leaders have failed us’, the ‘American tragedy can only be stopped by the American people’.
During his show, Springsteen also named the murdered Minneapolis Renee Good and Alex Pretti twice.
In recent years the Born in the U.S.A.
singer has been a vocal opponent of Trump.
In 2016 he told Rolling Stone that ‘the republic is under siege by a moron’ before he last year called his administration ‘corrupt, incompetent and treasonous’.
The next day, the President wrote on Truth Social: ‘Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy – just a pushy, obnoxious JERK.’
Later that same month, Trump posted an AI-generated video of him hitting the Grammy award winner with a golf ball.
Earlier this week Springsteen launched a tour in Minneapolis in honour of the city’s protests against Trump’s immigration crackdown.
‘The power and the solidarity of the people of Minneapolis, of Minnesota, was an inspiration to the entire country,’ he told a crowd of ‘No Kings’ protestors a few days ago.
‘Your strength and your commitment told us that this is still America, and this reactionary nightmare, and these invasions of American cities will not stand.’
