EastEnders star Ellie Dadd’s stalker has been jailed for 18 months.
The actress, who is 21, plays the role of Amy Mitchell in the BBC One soap.
In 2024, she started receiving hundreds of social media messages from Cora Upple, who became obsessed with her.
Also in 2024, Upple was given a nine-month suspended sentence and a restraining order.
She then proceeded to target Ellie’s mother Nicole Gibberd on social media.
Upple, who is 21 and from Kent, admitted to breaching her restraining order while at Maidstone Crown Court.
She has been jailed for 81 weeks, with her restraining order being extended to March 2031.
Ellie, who joined EastEnders in 2022, said that she felt ‘threatened’ and begged for help from the police, wanting the matter to stop.
In quotes obtained by The Sun, Alban Brahimi who was prosecuting the case said ‘The victim in this matter indirectly is Ellie Dadd, an actress on EastEnders, portraying Amy Mitchell.
While she understands there was fan attraction, this fan became obsessive not just in her character but in herself as an individual.’
They added: ‘The defendant was made clear not to follow or tag Ellie Dadd or any family members.
‘But there were two deliberate attempts after those conditions were imposed where she has followed the accounts of Nicola Gibberd.’
Metro has contacted Ellie Dadd’s representative for a comment.
Prior to Ellie taking over the EastEnders role of Amy Mitchell, the youngster was played by Abbie Burke.
The character, who is Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) daughter, struggled with her mental health in recent years, and began self-harming.
A therapy session with Amy saw her zone out and imagine her mum Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) by her side.
