This is not Kim Tate’s (Claire King) first rodeo at being poisoned in Emmerdale.

She was the victim of a posh brandy spiking back in 2021 where it appeared like she had dementia.

Turned out her own SON but was trying to off her to get at her will.

Can she survive for a second time?

In one sense, that might preclude him from being a suspect in this latest poisoning – what’s the point of killing her if he won’t even benefit?

Unless he’s just out for cold, hard, revenge, which is entirely conceivable given that he’s about to destroy the memorial of a dead girl on Butlers Farm.

But as they chow down on Lydia’s gourmet grub, disaster strikes when Kim starts choking.

There’s panic and little action as Kim collapses, unconscious.

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) pick her up and shove her in a car to wing her to hospital.

At the hospital, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) reveals to Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) that mushrooms are the culprit and Graham immediately suspects someone tried to off the head of the Tate clan with the foraged fungus.

The Dingles gather in the Woolpack’s backroom for a Miss Marple style whodunnit reveal, with fingers pointed all over the shop and Cain and Caleb Miligan (Will Ash) going straight in for each other.

What happened to Dingle solidarity?

Cain is blindsided when Sam Dingle (James Hooton) throws an accusation his way – Cain had told Sam where exactly to forage for the mushrooms, suggesting he set up the perfect crime.

What sweet revenge that would have been.

Kim pulls through and Joe goes to her side, but she accuses him of crocodile tears, which gets his back up.

He profusely guarantees that he did not poison Kim, which only makes her more suspicious given that he’s about as sincere as a curtain rail.

Did Joe try and kill her?

Or maybe could Graham have acted to protect Joe’s best interests?
