It turns out Clash Of Clans players are kinkier than you might expect and developer Supercell is taking full advantage.

Sex sells.

That’s been a fact since the invention of marketing and it’s not hard to find examples of video games advertising themselves to horny individuals, from Stellar Blade ’s supermodel protagonist to the various swimsuit skins littering games like Marvel Rivals .

However, it’s not often you see games, especially anything in the mainstream, trying to cater to specific kinks, like, for instance, those with a fetish for feet .

That’s exactly what mobile game Clash Of Clans seems to be doing, though, having announced a new item bundle titled the Foot Tribute Bundle, alongside artwork of the game’s Archer Queen hero reclining with her bare feet prominently displayed.

Even if you’ve never touched Clash Of Clans, you’re bound to know the name, considering it’s become one of the most successful mobile titles ever made, following its launch in 2012.

The free-to-play strategy game has been downloaded over a billion times, from the Google Play store alone, generated billions of dollars for Finnish developer Supercell, and netted Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen a Bafta fellowship earlier this month.

Expert, exclusive gaming analysis
Perhaps Supercell has some urgent bills to pay but whatever the reason for adding the content, the accompanying description for the bundle is unapologetically unsubtle: ‘Cast in perfect detail, bare and unapologetically regal.

A decadent indulgence for the truly refined.’
When you get down to it, though, the actual contents of the bundle are pretty tame.

For £11.99, all you’re getting are seven in-game stone replicas of sandaled feet, with an option to buy just one Foot Tribute for £1.99.

The bundle will only be available for the next two weeks and the items appear to be purely aesthetic and have no affect on gameplay.

On Reddit, the game’s official account has also left replies to bewildered players , saying : ‘We are merely responding to extensive audience and market research data.

And nothing else.’

Player reactions are, perhaps unsurprisingly, mixed.

Some are shocked to learn this isn’t fake, calling it a ‘ gooner package ,’ and expressing confusion that anyone would spend money on the bundle.

But one Redditor says Supercell ‘really knows their audience,’ with plenty of others expressing varying degrees of excitement and interest or requesting bikini skins for the characters.

If it’s a success who knows what that might encourage SuperCell to do next, but don’t be surprised if it ends up being a collaboration with Quentin Tarantino .
