I’m A Celebrity fans have leapt to Gemma Collins’ defence after campmate Sinitta aimed fire at her career.
We’re almost a week into the South Africa spin-off, and the returning stars are already clashing heads.
On Thursday night’s episode, the GC joined the main camp, where she was met with a brutal takedown by 80s hitmaker Sinitta, 62, over her casting as Mama Morton in the West End show Chicago (a role the latter has also played).
Although Gemma never actually ended up taking the role on stage in 2022 due to an injury (Brenda Edwards replaced her), that didn’t stop Sinitta from expressing her incredulity all these years later, sharing she thought it was a ‘joke’.
‘Not a joke, Sinitta.
I auditioned for it and got it fair and square.
Did all the training, everything.
Had the voice coach,’ the reality star said.

The 45-year-old meme queen went on to explain her withdrawal: ‘I had a terrible injury, it was something to do with the insurance.’
Sinitta then doubled down: ‘I’m sorry, but I’m going to admit it, that when I heard you were doing it I thought it was a joke announcement.’
‘For what reason?’ Gemma asked, to which Sinitta branded her a ‘comedian’ before continuing: ‘I think you’d just presented something at an awards and fallen off the stage.
‘I thought you were that girl, like, you don’t really do anything, but you make a great entrance, and you make everybody laugh.
But I didn’t know you could actually sing, dance and all of that.
All that jazz.’
As Scarlett Moffatt and Seann Walsh were both present for the chat, their faces of horror (with Scarlett whispering ‘what is happening?’) were all of us watching on as the tension skyrocketed.
In a defensive tone, Gemma firmly concluded: ‘I don’t think you’d get casted as Mama Morton in Chicago, if you didn’t pass the audition.’
Fans have been left appalled at the interaction and the way Sinitta went for Gemma and didn’t hold anything back.
‘Sinitta is just digging herself further into this hole with what she’s said to Gemma Collins,’ Lord Ben wrote on X.
‘I wish Gemma had got up & performed a bit of Mama Morton in front of Sinitta,’ Emma added.
‘I’ve gone right off Sinitta.
How bloody rude was that?’ Karen declared.
‘I’m not Gemma’s biggest fan but Sinitta basically calling her a clown was not on.
Someone who can’t sing or has no talent doesn’t get casted in Chicago,’ Aaron posted.
Mike echoed: ‘Sinitta going for her like that about the play was uncalled for in front of everyone.’
‘Her coming for Gemma is nothing but vile,’ joey agreed.
Sinitta is not the only one to leave fans unimpressed in last night’s episode.
David Haye also left a bad taste in the audience’s mouth with his ‘attitude’ problem.
When the main camp stars were discussing who they wanted to bring into their circle, Scarlett suggested Beverly Collard to which the former heavyweight champion bitingly responded: ‘What’s she adding?
What value is she adding?’
His words left fans shocked and are already calling for him to be the first man evicted.
I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
