Geri Halliwell-Horner and Christian Horner’s luxury estates are about to get a whole lot fancier thanks to a major planning permission win.
The couple married in 2015 and have three children as part of their blended family: Geri’s daughter, Bluebell Madonna Halliwell, 19, Christian’s daughter Olivia, 11, and a son named Montague George Hector Horner, born in 2017.
Their family of five aren’t the only ones who live there either, as Geri and Christian own several horses, donkeys, dogs, and chickens on their expansive land.
And in the latest development, life is about to get much fancier for one animal in particular.
Following a row with neighbours, Geri and Christian have cleared the final hurdle and secured permission to add a £30,000 horse walker, as per The Sun.
Consequently, a 77ft structure will be built at their Oxfordshire pad, allowing them to train horses and improve their fitness.
The pop star and her partner own a horse racing company called OMBI, which has 14 horses and a full-time trainer.
Geri and Christian must adhere to strict rules, though, after several objections were lodged with West Northamptonshire District Council regarding the height and visual impact of the build.
Conditions state that ‘the building shall be used for private equestrian and land management uses only, and no commercial use, including riding lessons, tuition, livery, or competitions, shall take place at any time.’
Nevertheless, the authority believes the general design of the walker is ‘functional’ and, ‘giving regard to its siting, scale, and rural-equestrian character, [it] is considered appropriate for the open countryside location and would not harm the character of the area.’
Lighting still needs to get the go-ahead before any building takes place, although something tells us fellow residents won’t be pleased that permission has been granted, given how one argued that the proposed structure would be ‘extremely visible’ from their own property.
‘In a rural conservation area, this would be unacceptable as it would completely change the character of the area,’ they added.
Still, a win is a win, with Geri and Christian already having faced battles with locals in the past when seeking permission for a new barn, a greenhouse, and a first-floor extension.
Here are some of the highlights…
Both kitchens feature large cream Aga stoves and dark marble-topped counters for contrast.
They seem warm and bright with light streaming through the windows.
In one of the mansions, the indoor swimming pool is surrounded by cream-stone tiles and boasts exposed red brick walls with a barn-style ceiling and wooden beams.
Monty can be seen in some pictures in a wetsuit, while Geri opts for a swimming costume – in white, of course.
In true Ginger Spice style, in one of Geri’s sitting rooms, she has a sofa with a Union Flag cushion pattern.
This is pretty much the only piece of furniture with colour, as almost all of the rest of the room is in the classic palette of cream and earthy tones.
In some of the rooms, the star has decorated with antiques, including a painting of Jesus’s Last Supper, a gramophone, ornate wooden desks, and chestnut consoles.
Over the years, Geri has documented her love for the great outdoors and her passion for equestrian pursuits, with a variety of horses appearing on her social media page.
