Jeff Brazier and son Freddy’s relationship appears to have been repaired after the pair infamously clashed last year.

Last year the TV presenter, 46, launched legal action in a bid to prevent his youngest son from seeing his maternal grandmother, Jackiey Budden.

Jade Goody’s ex was said to be taking steps to protect Freddy from what he alleges was an ‘incredibly detrimental’ relationship.

But after dropping the legal case, Jeff then turned his attention to supportingFreddy after it emerged his ex-girlfriend Holly was expecting a baby.
This week it was announced the pair – who have since got back together – welcomed their first child, a daughter they named Isla Jade Brazier.

As Freddy embarks on a new chapter, we take a look inside his life, from his emotional TV appearance alongside his dad to his relationship with his grandmother…

Becoming a dad

Soon after reports emerged that Freddy’s ex-girlfriend was expecting a baby, sources said Jeff had been ‘extremely supportive’ of his son.

A friend told The Mail on Sunday of the baby news: ‘It has blindsided him and has been one of the things that has really brought him and his dad back together, but it’s so devastating that Jade isn’t here to see it.

‘Jeff was one of the first people he decided to confide in to ask for advice, and he stepped up straight away and wanted to help in any way he could.’
It’s believed Freddy and Holly initially had a brief relationship, which ended on a bitter note in early 2025 after a series of arguments.

However they later reconciled.

Freddy’s early years

The late Jade Goody had two children during her relationship with This Morning presenter Jeff.

Bobby was born in June 2003, while Freddy was born in September 2004.

In 2008, Jade was diagnosed with cervical cancer while appearing on Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss.

She was later told that the cancer had ‘advanced’ and was life-threatening and was given a 65% chance of survival.

Sadly, on March 22 2009 Jade died in her sleep at the age of 27, with then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown paying tribute to ‘a courageous woman both in life and death and the whole country has admired her determination to provide a bright future for her children’.

Freddy opened up on the loss of his mother while appearing on Celebrity Race Across The World alongside his dad Jeff, leaving viewers of the show ‘heartbroken’.

He said: ‘I lost my mum when I was four and that was on Mother’s Day, which is really hard.

I don’t really like showing my emotions.

I don’t even speak to my dad much about my mum either.

I just avoid it.

I prefer to bottle it up.

‘I don’t want to feel like I’m a burden to them.

A lot of my memories that I have of my mum have come from watching a documentary, YouTube clips, newspapers, they are not my memories.’
While holding back tears, he continued: ‘I don’t really remember being held by my mum.

If I had more memories of her, it would have made it a whole lot harder for me.

‘But I think I would rather that than not really remember the things that I had done with my mum.

It’s just life really and I’ve kind of accepted that.’

ADHD diagnosis

Freddy emotionally discussed his ADHD diagnosis on the show, saying he felt ‘inadequate’.

Jeff said he was ‘proud’ to see his son persevere with tasks and try his best even if he felt he was ‘no good at it’.

Speaking to the camera, he went on to explain how his son’s strengths were ‘absolutely numerous’, but that he ‘struggled to see it in himself’.

Speaking about his difficulties while in the classroom, Freddy then admitted he found school ‘tough’.

‘I was that kid in class who struggled, and my concentration wasn’t the best and I was a bit of a joker,’ he said.

Freddy then went on to explain how he was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder aged 10.

‘I didn’t mean to misbehave, but I didn’t know how to cope with everything that was going on.

I don’t think I was bad, but I wasn’t good,’ he continued.

Going on to speak about his son, Jeff said he knew Freddy would ‘go on to do something amazing in his lifetime’.

‘We need the pioneers and the people who give a completely different opinion, and that’s what Fred’s role is going to be.

I see it, I’ve always seen it, and I look forward to him realising it one day, where it will all click and fall into place,’ he added.

Relationship with Jackiey Budden

Jackiey was married to Jade’s dad Andrew, who suffered from a heroin addiction until they separated when Jade was just two years old.

Jackiey reportedly ‘comforts Freddy when he argues with his dad’, with a source telling the Mail: ‘Freddy will often turn up on the doorstep, sometimes very unhappy and wanting to see his nan.

Things are seemingly hostile between Jeff and Jackiey, after she branded him a ‘c**k’ after Bobby’s Nation Television Awards speech after he picked up the gong for rising star for his role in EastEnders.

However, Jeff later reportedly dropped the case after ‘making peace’ with Jackiey.

‘Effectively they’ve all made peace for the time being and are trying to make things better again, which is doing them the world of good,’ a source told The Sun.

‘It’s actually the perfect outcome for everyone, and exactly what Jade would have wanted.

The boys are happier for it, and the constant in-fighting has stopped… for now.’
They added that Freddy ‘remains devoted’ to his grandmother and had been ‘threatening to leave the UK to be with his grandmother abroad if Jeff carried on his legal case’.
