Scott Mills’ shock sacking by the BBC has sent shockwaves through the TV and radio industry.

The former Radio 2 presenter, 53, had his contract terminated on Monday following an alleged complaint about about a historic police investigation into ‘serious sexual offences against a boy under 16’.

Following this revelation, the BBC then said it terminated Mills’ contract after ‘obtaining new information relating to him’.

But, in the wake of his sacking, the release of several TV shows and podcasts formerly involving Mills have been thrown into jeapordy.

Earlier today, the future of a Race Across the World spin-off podcast was confirmed after Mills had originally been signed to co-host the show with former winner Alfie Watts.

Now, it has been revealed whether Mills will make an appearance on The Great Celebrity Bake Off For Stand Up To Cancer next month.

Will Scott Mills’ Bake Off episode air?

Earlier this year, Mills was announced as one of the celebrities taking part in this year’s edition of the podcast, alongside JoJo Siwa, Mark Wright and Vicky Pattison.

Currently, the TV schedules for his episode remain unchanged, meaning as of now it is set to air as normal with Mills featured.

In total, 24 celebrities will be taking part in the baking contest this spring.

What has Channel 4 said?

It is not yet known whether Channel 4 might make a decision to pull or change the episode from broadcast ahead of it airing this month.

Metro has contacted Channel 4 for comment but has not received a response.

Have other Scott Mills appearances been affected?

Earlier this week, Metro confirmed that Mills’ scene in EastEnders will not be reused in this year’s New Year’s episode and it will have no impact on what is to come.

But, today, Mills’ replacement for Eurovision was revealed after his BBC Radio 2 axe.

Since 2011, Mills has been part of the national broadcaster’s coverage of Eurovision.

In recent years, he also commentated the two semi-finals alongside Rylan Clark.

But ahead of the Vienna contest in May, it has now been reported that Sara Cox will be joining Rylan Clark as this year’s host.

While the broadcaster has yet to confirm the official 2026 line-up, Cox said in a new issue of Good Housekeeping that she is no longer afraid to ‘crumple a man’s fragile ego’.

Now in her 50s, Cox says she has embraced a more confident version of herself, one that is no longer concerned with appeasing others.

‘I say what I think a lot more these days,’ she said.
