Katy Perry has responded following Ruby Rose’s claims of sexual assault, calling them ‘dangerous lies’.

Over the weekend, while Perry partied at Coachella festival in California with her boyfriend, Justin Trudeau, Hollywood actress Rose alleged that the pop star assaulted her while at a nightclub in Australia.

The 40-year-old Orange Is the New Black star says the incident occurred when she was in her twenties.

Perry, now 41, is accused of ‘rubbing her vagina on [Rose’s] face’.

After a reluctance to speak publicly for two decades, Rose filed a police report on April 13, 2026.

A representative for Perry later told Metro: ‘The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.

‘Ms.

Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.’
Perry’s official statement follows a source’s claims that she was taken aback by Rose’s allegations, telling The Sun today that the celebrities have ‘a complicated backstory’ and have ‘never really been friends’, but the latest development came ‘as a massive shock to everyone’.

Rose first made her claims in an Instagram comment responding to Perry’s verdict on Justin Bieber’s headline Coachella set on Saturday night.

The Baby hitmaker was criticised for an apparent lack of effort during his show, in which he streamed his own YouTube videos and sang along.

Perry had commented on a Complex Music post: ‘Thank God he has [YouTube] Premium.

I don’t wanna see no ads.’
Replying, Rose said: ‘Katy Perry assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne.

Who gives a s**t what she thinks.’
‘After it I threw up on her.

I told the story publicly but changed it to be a “funny little drunk story” because I didn’t know how else to handle it.

Later she agreed to help me get my US visa.

So I kept it a secret,’ she wrote.

‘But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person.

Instead I got attacked by..

everyone.’
A fan replied to Rose, saying they ‘stand with [her]’, to which Rose penned: ‘I was only in my early 20s.

I’m now 40.

It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.’
‘Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes.

Thank you for seeing me,’ she concluded.

Quoting Perry’s famous lyrics, another user quipped, ‘She kissed a girl and you didn’t like it?’, with Rose then clarifying: ‘She didn’t kiss me.

She saw me “resting” on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.’
Rose proceeded to invite Perry to hit back, stating: ‘She is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people).’
Also accusing Perry of ‘psychological manipulation’, Rose said there was ‘so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want [her] discussing’, the song in question being 2017’s Swish Swish.

At the time, Rose was close with Taylor Swift, appearing in her star-studded Bad Blood music video, a song long thought to be about Perry and their feud.

So, when Perry released Swish Swish as a single, fans began piecing together her own lyrics, assuming the track was a retaliatory nod to the 1989 hitmaker.

Rose also hit out at Perry online, criticising her political activism, chart sales, and songwriting, and branding Swish Swish ‘purposeful poop’ to ‘bomb a petit’.

The TV star later backtracked, writing: ‘Being mean doesn’t suit me and leaves me feeling dirty.’ She then tweeted: ‘Get so triggered when I think bullies don’t get held accountable and it makes me think I should say something..

but it’s not place.’
In a subsequent tweet, she added: ‘I have always believed strongly that Karma exists and the truth always surfaces however I’m not god and I can’t decide when or how that is.’
As for her latest assault allegations, Rose is said to have officially reported the matter to the police, writing on social media that she ‘just left the police station’ this afternoon.
