The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated March 29.
It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has suffered another family loss in Emmerdale, as Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) has left the village with daughter Frankie.
In order to facilitate for Amy’s maternity leave, Tracy decided to sell her house and leave the Dales.
She kept her decision a secret from Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) for a little while but when she found out, Vanessa eventually came to understand why Tracy wanted to leave.
The resident has spent the past couple of years adjusting to the fact she is now a single mum.
In 2024, Tracy was led to believe Frankie’s dad Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) didn’t want anything to do with his family in the village anymore.
A few months later, she learnt that he never made it to his new job in Shetland, and was actually murdered by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
Suffice to say Emmerdale holds a lot of bad memories for Tracy right now.
In today’s instalment, Tracy spent her morning packing up the last of her things.
After being offered a new job by Nate’s mum Cara, Tracy knew it was the perfect opportunity to have a fresh start.
The one thing that was troubling Tracy though was that Cain hadn’t arrived to say goodbye.
Yesterday, she asked Cain to visit before they left, but he was very preoccupied with a herd of cows.
Don’t ask.
As Tracy waited, she remained unaware that Cain and the Dingles were dealing with the fact Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had knocked Holly Barton’s memorial down on Butler’s Farm.
Once Tracy discovered that Cain hadn’t forgotten about them and was actually dealing with more family drama, she told Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) to drive them up to Wishing Well instead.
Despite the fact Tracy and Cain haven’t always seen eye to eye, their final hug and farewell was very emotional.
Cain tried to remain strong in front of Tracy and young Frankie, but he somewhat struggled to hide his tears over another family member leaving.

But given the fact Tracy is only moving house, it allows her to return in the future, perhaps when the village doesn’t constantly remind her of everyone she’s lost.
Amy and her partner Toby-Alexander Smith announced the arrival of their second daughter earlier this week.
The soap stars, who met while in the audience of a Strictly Come Dancing episode, already have a daughter together called Bonnie.
