Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has revealed a double injury worry ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Fulham.
The Reds’ fitness concerns have eased in recent weeks, most notably with the return of Alexander Isak after three-and-a-half months on the sidelines following surgery .
Isak was named on a strong-looking Liverpool bench - alongside Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo - in the 2-0 Champions League quarter-final first leg loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.
However, despite describing player availability as the “best is has been this season” Slot has said he has concerns over Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez heading into a pivotal week for the club.
Speaking on Friday, the Dutchman said: “Compared to the whole season, this is the best period of time when it comes to players available, but if i go away from here and I go into my office, I’m looking at my list and I’m seeing three defenders injured.
“A right full-back in Conor Bradley, a centre-back Giovanni Leoni and a player that can play at centre-back Wataru Endo.

“The players I am of course worried about again for tomorrow will be Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez.
“Yes it’s the best it has been this season when you look at our bench against Paris Saint-Germain, it’s the best bench we have had throughout the whole season, but sometimes things don’t look as good as they might be.”
Frimpong has struggled with injuries during his first season on Merseyside and provided a scare when he limped off during the Netherlands’ 1-1 draw against Colombia during the international break .
Ultimately, the substitution proved to be a precaution as the Dutchman was back in training days later and has since featured against Manchester City and PSG.
Gomez, meanwhile, has had his fitness issues all season and could be rested to avoid another setback having completed 90 minutes in the Parc des Princes.
Slot also revealed Alisson, who has missed the last three games in all competitions, will not be available for selection against Fulham but Isak is in line to get more minutes under his belt.
He said: "We don't get a player back yet - Alisson is working hard to find his way back into the squad and that's really positive but he won't be available this weekend.
"That Alex [Isak] is available for us again is vital of course because I said many times that it was hard for us to convert chances into goals and he's been a goalscorer his whole life.
We're hoping after a great rehab period he had, we can bring him up to the level faster."
