A content creator admitted on Instagram that her family came close to a ‘very tragic accident’ when she hit her young son with a car.

She said in a post to her almost 65,000 followers that the day in question had started like normal before it turned into ‘the worst day of our lives.’
The mum-of-two, who is also a paediatric nurse in the US, said she decided to take her daughter, Lily, to get doughnuts before her dance class.

‘He helped Lily into the car and was waving goodbye between our car and Henry, who was in the garage.

‘In a matter of seconds, our son was run over by our car.

‘I was driving.’
Her neighbours happened to be nearby, and they ‘stepped in immediately’ to help while the parents rushed little Henry to the hospital, Kelly’s post continued.

He underwent X-rays of his legs, chest and neck, which came back normal, while a CT scan of his organs and spinal cord showed no injury, the mum said.

While all neurological exams showed no sign of head injury, Henry suffered a fractured pelvis in the crash.

Kelly said they keep replaying the incident and asking themselves ‘how this could have happened.’
She said the near-tragedy has changed them, and she pleaded with other parents to hold hands with young children around vehicles.

Kelly continued: ‘Even when you are not distracted, even when you are not rushing.

‘It can still happen in the blink of an eye.’
Her post about the incident two days ago sparked a conversation about it, with tens of thousands of reactions and dozens of comments.

Some people thanked her for being vulnerable and sharing, while others questioned why she had posted about it ‘on the same day.’
