London is set to see more of the glorious sunshine that hit the capital over the weekend, with sunny skies predicted for the rest of the week.

According to the Met Office , the forecast for the rest of the week shows sunshine across the board, before clouds come in over the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to remain warm throughout the week, with highs of 22C on Monday and Friday.

After clear skies all day on Monday, it is expected to cool down a little midweek, with temperature in the mid to late teens.

There will be patches of cloud and some chance of light rain - before Thursday and Friday see plenty of warm sunshine and lighter winds.

The weather is expected to remain fair throughout the rest of April and into May as high pressure “is likely to remain in centres close to or over the UK”, according to the meteorological agency.

As for the Bank Holiday weekend, the early outlook is less positive.

According to the Met Office ’s long range forecast, conditions in early May will be more changeable than they have been recently.

The Met Office said: “This means an increasing chance of showers or longer spells of rain, with a risk of strong winds at times.

“Some dry spells with some warm sunshine are still likely at times too, with a risk of a few short-lived early morning fog patches.

Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal.”
