The iconic Hobbit: A Graphic Novel adaptation, illustrated by David Wenzel, has rapidly climbed the charts to become the number one best-selling comic at Amazon this week, and it's not hard to see why.

Tolkien can pick up this illustrated take on the fantasy classic for a steep discount right now as part of Amazon's 2026 'Big Spring Sale' - making it one of the cheapest ways to revisit Middle-earth in any format currently.

Originally adapted in 1989 and illustrated by David Wenzel, The Hobbit: A Graphic Novel condenses Tolkien’s classic story into a 144-page paperback, with the narrative carefully abridged to suit a visual format.

The book collects the original three-issue run from Eclipse Comics, making it a straightforward, accessible entry point into Middle-earth, particularly for younger readers or anyone looking for a quicker revisit.
