The Masters returns today as Rory McIlroy looks to defend the title he won in dramatic fashion at Augusta National 12 months ago.

McIlroy ended his decade-long major drought and completed the career Grand Slam with a play-off victory over Justin Rose last April.
And the Northern Irishman now returns seeking to become just the fourth player to retain the Green Jacket after Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods.

Leading the charge to deny McIlroy a sixth major will be World No1 Scottie Scheffler, who is the favourite despite an understated start to the season by his own lofty standards.

2023 champion Jon Rahm is also poised to contend after his impressive start to the year, while fellow LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau has back-to-back top-six finishes in his last two Masters appearances.

Elsewhere, there is plenty of optimism for another British winner, with Matt Fitzpatrick and Bob MacIntyre impressing in recent weeks on the PGA Tour.

Ahead of today’s first round, here is everything you need to know, including UK tee times, TV schedule, odds and how to watch and stream all the action.
