Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) attempted to get Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) to open up about Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) in today’s Coronation Street, but it went drastically wrong.
A few weeks ago, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) called Sarah and the rest of Todd’s loved ones to the funeral parlour.
There, he revealed that he thinks Todd is being abused by Theo.
When Todd arrived moments later, he denied the claims that Theo had been hurting him.
In the days that have followed, he’s attempted to show Theo how much he means to him by agreeing to move to Belfast.
In today’s episode, Sarah found Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) in the café, and was concerned to learn that she hasn’t heard from Todd in a little while.
She headed to his flat and asked Todd if she could come inside.
Todd is well aware that Theo doesn’t like him spending time with the likes of George and Sarah, but also really wanted to see his friend.
He stood in front of the video camera doorbell and quietly encouraged Sarah in.
As they chatted over their cups of tea, Todd and Sarah ended up having a really nice time.
Sadly, the mood shifted when Todd made a comment about how much sugar is in one biscuit.
Sarah noted that it didn’t sound like him and she was right – Todd’s relationship with food and how he views his health has only shifted because Theo has spent almost a year body-shaming him.
Todd immediately got defensive, and then caught Sarah checking his arms to see if Theo had inflicted any bruises.
He was deeply uncomfortable and asked Sarah to leave, but the duo then heard Theo coming up the stairs.
Sarah witnessed fear run through Todd’s veins and was forced to hide in the bedroom.
Nervous, Todd lied to Theo and said he had just spent the past few hours doom scrolling on his phone.
Theo realised Todd was keeping something from him when he spotted two mugs on the side.
Sarah left the bedroom, and the vibe in the flat became incredibly awkward.

Theo claimed that he didn’t have a problem with Sarah visiting Todd, because he knows the friendship is important to the both of them.
As he chatted, there was a worrying look on Todd’s face that suggested he knew what was going to happen as soon as Sarah left.
As soon as the front door clicked shut, Theo confronted Todd about his apparent betrayal.
Within seconds Todd was utterly terrified and asked Theo what he was going to do to him.
And in one of the most chilling moments within this storyline Theo told Todd that he wasn’t going to do anything to him…for now.
