Coronation Street is currently airing a storyline that explores the societal changes within relationship dynamics that have taken place over the years.

It’s focuses on Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), who was in a relationship with a much older woman when he was 14.

When Tim saw Trisha towards the end of last year, he was quick to tell Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) and Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) that she was an old flame.

Tim recalled this period in his life with a smile on his face, noting that Trisha took his virginity when she was 20 and he was 14.

Sally and Brian were quick to point out that Tim was abused by Trisha, but he refused to see her as a predator.

It’s only in recent weeks that Tim has come to terms with being groomed, after recognising similarities between his own experience and Will Driscoll’s (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) relationship with Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).

Next week, Sally calls at the cab office and tells Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) that Tim still hasn’t spoken to Trisha.

Focus for Tim then turns to Will, as he’s asked to give him a lift to the train station.

Unbeknownst to everyone, Will has been secretly planning to leave Weatherfield and start a new life with Megan in France.

As far as the Driscolls are concerned, Will has been busy packing his things to move to Scotland where his mum Melanie lives.

When Tim learns that the Glasgow train is cancelled, he grows suspicious when Will insists they head for the station anyways.

To try and help the young lad, Tim opens up to Will and tells him about Trisha.

He said that while he enjoyed it at the time, he’s now come to realise that technically he was a victim of rape.

His conversation appears to help Will, as he discusses reporting Megan to the police later in the week.

Meanwhile, the chat also does Tim some good, as he tells Sally that he’s going to just track Trisha down at work, as she’s ignoring his messages.
