Follow the fallout after Evloev won a contentious decision against the Manchester featherweight, handing Murphy his first defeat
There was controversy in the featherweight main event of UFC London on Saturday, as Movsar Evloev won a contentious decision over Lerone Murphy .

The first three rounds were closely contested on the feet, but with Manchester’s Murphy arguably having a slight edge over his Russian opponent, who was bizarrely neglecting his trademark wrestling.

And although Evloev reverted to his strengths in the final two rounds, he was docked a point in the fourth after landing his second hard low blow of the night.

All the above seemingly set up a close result either way, perhaps even a draw, yet the scorecards read 48-46, 48-46, 47-47 in favour of Evloev.

With that, the Russian stayed unbeaten, handed Murphy his first loss, and Evloev may well be next for champion Alexander Volkanovski.

In the co-main event, Liverpool’s Luke Riley moved to 2-0 in the UFC with a decision win over Michael Aswell Jr, while Michael “Venom” Page and Sam Patterson failed to deliver the quality that was expected in their all-British bout, as Page won comfortably on points.

Three narrow (lucky?) wins in a row for Evloev
Evloev moved to 20-0 on Saturday; we’d be remiss not to mention that his last three fights have been very close.

His decisions over Arnold Allen, former bantamweight king Aljamain Sterling, and Murphy could all have gone the other way.

Perhaps his fight with Allen wasn’t quite as close as the other two, but still.
