Smith was 4-for-26 shooting in four Big Ten Tournament games when he shredded his black No.
3 jersey down the center, tearing it apart with his hands.
The mangled No.
3 jersey had to be replaced.

Smith finished the Big Ten Tournament championship game in a No.
41 with no name on the back.
He went 6-for-9 in that uniform and finished with 14 points, 11 assists and 3 steals and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
He will not try to ride that good fortune of a number changed in the NCAA Tournament game versus Queens.
Smith stated on Thursday he would be wearing No.
3 when Purdue took the court the following night.
He's listed on Purdue's roster as No.
3 ahead of tipoff.
Smith enters the game two assists shy of breaking Bobby Hurley's NCAA career record.
