A spell of strong winds and heavy rain are forecast as Status Yellow wind and rain warnings have been issued for eight counties.

Strong winds and heavy rain are forecast for tomorrow as Status Yellow wind and rain warnings have been issued for eight counties.

The rain warning will be place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 9am until 9pm, with Met Éireann warning of spells of heavy rain, which could lead to localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.

A separate Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

The forecaster said strong and gusty south to southeast winds tomorrow could lead to fallen trees and branches, along with difficult travelling conditions.

The warning will be in place from midday until 9pm tomorrow.
