A Status Yellow wind warning which was is in effect for counties Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Mayo has expired.

Met Éireann had warned of very strong and very gusty westerly winds.

The forecaster said that this could have resulted in some fallen trees and branches, difficult travelling conditions, large coastal waves and potentially damaging gusts of wind.

Tomorrow will be cold, with frost and ice in places tomorrow night.

Meteorologist with Met Éireann Michelle Dillon said: "There will be an added wind chill effect tomorrow with maximum temperatures ranging from 5 to 9 degrees and it will feel even colder than that, with fresh to strong north westerly winds.

"Winds and showers will ease later into the day tomorrow.

Tomorrow night will be dry but cold with frost and ice."
On Thursday, there will be a slight improvement in temperatures, with some rain also.

"There will be a little bit of a recovery in temperatures on Thursday.

It will be mostly cloudy with a little rain and drizzle in the west and north-west.

"There will be mixed conditions with some rain and drizzle on Thursday night which will clear to the south-east early on Friday morning," she said.

Friday, will be a brighter day "with sunshine and a few scattered showers, especially further to the north and west, it will be a cool day but there will be some nice sunshine to compensate".

There will be "some nice spells of sunshine with some scattered showers" on Saturday, especially to the west and north and it will be "generally breezy", while Sunday will be a windier day "with rain spreading from the north-west, with blustery conditions in general", Ms Dillon said.
