Arsenal will look to return to the top of the table after Man City ended their 200-day stint at the Premier League pinnacle in midweek
Arsenal are charged with arresting their slip and regaining a control in the Premier League title race as they host Newcastle looking to move back to the top of the table.
Mikel Arteta ’s side emerged on the losing side of last Sunday’s title six-pointer with Manchester City , allowing them to close what was once a 10-point gap and move to the top of the table this week with their win over Burnley .
The Gunners have now lost four on the bounce in domestic competitions and are at serious risk of their title bid falling apart , if they fail to end their struggles.
They welcome the visit of 14th-placed Newcastle, who are themselves going through quite the rough patch after suffering five straight defeats, with pressure piling on Eddie Howe .

44’ - The screens show Arsenal fans chomping nails off their fingers.
And we are yet to reach half-time.
43’ - Arsenal, displaying minimal intensity, pass it across the back for a minute and when they finally venture forward, White gifts possession back to the visitors.
42’ - Never mind.
It’s taken short to Tonali and his shot is blocked.
41’ - Saliba trips Miley to give Newcastle another free-kick 35 yards from goal that Bruno will relish creating something from.
38’ - Dan Burn shoots far, far off target as a graphic pops up on the TV screen to show Newcastle have had seven attempts to their hosts’ three - and that includes the most recent four.
The tension - despite the lead- appears to be creeping back up again.
36’ - Willock, meanwhile, was declared fine to continue and Newcastle remain more consistently ambitious.
