Republicans in the House conceded to a Senate-approved bill that does not fund immigration enforcement agencies
After weeks of back-and-forth between the Senate and House, the lower chamber of Congress agreed to approve the funding bill that excludes immigration enforcement agencies.
Last month, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson declined to take up the bill , approved by the Senate, because it did not provide funding to the agencies responsible for carrying out President Donald Trump’s key agenda.
But he reversed his position this week after the president urged Republican lawmakers to pass the bill.
The bill will now head to President Donald Trump’s desk for signing.
