One of the actors for Spider-Man in the PlayStation 5 games has teased his next project and it’s pretty obvious what it is.
Right now, Insomniac Games’ priority is making sure its long awaited Wolverine game is ready to go for its September release date, but work will have surely begun on whatever comes afterwards too.
A sequel to Spider-Man 2 is a very obvious guess, even ignoring the information leaked from the hacking incident in 2023.
Aside from Spider-Man 2 being a sales hit (though not enough to prevent lay-offs apparently), it ended with several blatant teases for a sequel.
It certainly seems Insomniac is in the midst of something Spider-Man related, thank to a social media tease from one of Spidey’s own motion capture artists.
Earlier today, Ben Jordan, who provided the facial motion capture (but not anything else) for Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the 2022 remaster of the first Spider-Man game, as well as Spider-Man 2, posted a photo of himself in mocap gear on his Instagram.
On its own, this would be pretty innocuous, but he’s purposefully doing Spider-Man’s classic web shooter pose with his hand and he attached a cheeky ‘If you know, you know’ comment, complete with a spider emoji.

If Spider-Man 3 is indeed the next game after Wolverine, this would line up with Insomniac’s leaked release schedule from the 2023 hacking incident.
That schedule placed Wolverine in autumn 2026, with Spider-Man 3 aiming for autumn 2028.
However, plans could very well have changed since then, especially in response to the leak.
It’s not impossible that Jordan is reprising his role for a different project, such as the Venom spin-off that was also mentioned in the leak but has never been annouced.
Considering it was marked for an autumn 2025 launch, it’s suspected that the spin-off was cancelled, especially given the death of voice actor Tony Todd, but perhaps Insomniac merely delayed it and Spider-Man is making an appearance in that.
According to the leaks from the hack, Insomniac is also working on an X-Men game, which Spidey could potentially make a cameo in, but that was originally slated for a 2030 launch.
Perhaps the more intriguing question is whether Spider-Man 3 will be a PlayStation 6 exclusive or not.
The new console is supposed to be launching in 2027 and a new Spider-Man game would be an ideal game to encourage people to invest in the hardware.
But, the PlayStation 6 is also expected to be very expensive (especially after the recent PlayStation 5 price hike) and thus a much harder sell.
So, locking Spider-Man 3 to it may only hurt the game’s launch sales and instead prompt Sony to make it a cross-gen release for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 6.
