Patrick Muldoon has died at the age of 57.

The actor, known for his roles in a number of TV soap operas as well as sci-fi film Starship Troopers, died on Sunday morning following a heart attack.

Muldoon was born in San Pedro, California.

Muldoon’s big break came in 1992 when he landed the part of Austin Reed in Days Of Our Lives, which would become his most-known role.

He starred on the daytime drama for three years, departing in 1995, but he would stage a short return as Austin between 2011 and 2012.

Between Muldoon’s original stint and following his last one, the role of Austin as played by Austin Peck, with the character’s latest appearance being in 2021.

Following his success in daytime, Muldoon starred in primetime soap opera Melrose Place, playing Richard Hart for three years.

Throughout his career, he starred in many TV films, including Winter Heat and Night Sins, Ice Spiders, Project Viper, Chain Of Command, Patient Killer, A Boyfriend For Christmas, Saving Christmas, A Tale Of Two Coreys, Point Of Entry and Fatal Acquittal.

His biggest film appearance was in 1997’s Starship Troopers, where he played Zander Baraclow.

Muldoon confirmed just days ago on his Instagram that he was due to star in Kochroach with Chris Hemsworth and Taron Edgerton.

‘So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazzie Beetz And Alec Baldwin,’ he wrote on his social media.

‘Filming now in Australia’.
