A source revealed The White Lotus star, 41, is pregnant in a ‘beautiful surprise’ with the baby due this autumn.
Shockingly, her news was met with a bizarre backlash, accusing her of moving on too quickly after the death of her estranged husband, Jeff Baena.
An insider told People, ‘It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year’, adding, ‘they feel very blessed’.
‘Well, there’s a baby inside of me,’ Aubrey told the Smartless podcast.
‘No, I said there is a baby inside of me right now.’
She continued: ‘Today was a big day.
I went to the doctor’s today, and my dog also went to the doctor’s.
And both of us, my dog’s getting a scan right now.
I got a scan earlier.
I’m not kidding.
‘She had to get an ultrasound on her stomach.
And then I got an ultrasound on my stomach, and there is a baby in there.’
Aubrey’s dog kept her company on her recent outing in New York, where she wore a striped top and comfy trousers with sunglasses to stay incognito.
The Parks and Recs star added that she was very excited to be a mum, sharing she had ‘always wanted’ a baby.
‘I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?”
‘It just seems so interesting, that whole thing, I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?’ she said.
‘It just seems so interesting, that whole thing.’
Aubrey and Chris have worked together over the years in various productions, but don’t often speak publicly about their romance.
Chris is an American actor, best known for his appearances in cult sitcom Girls as well as 2023’s hit movie Poor Things alongside Emma Stone.
The Agatha All Along star has rarely spoken about their relationship but did discuss the death of Baena last year while on Amy Poehler’s podcast.
She described grief as a ‘giant ocean of awfulness’, admitting sometimes she just ‘wants to dive in’.
‘Then sometimes I just look at it, and sometimes I try to get away from it.
But, it’s always there.’
Baena was estranged from his wife at the time of his death, having been together for over a decade before this.
It was reported that he had made concerning remarks to his estranged wife, prompting a friend to perform a wellness check.
The examiner said Aubrey ‘last knew her husband to be alive when he sent her a text message’ on the morning of the day he died.
