You’re always in for a nightmare if you go up against Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) in Coronation Street.
The teenager is the daughter of John Stape, the murderous villain who caused a huge amount of chaos when he lived in Weatherfield.
When she joined Weatherfield High, Hope became interested in a book that had been written about her serial killer father.
She even decided to threaten some nasty girls at school, weilding a hammer and telling them that her biological dad killed a woman with the same weapon.
In recent weeks, Hope decided to stir the pot in the aftermath of Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) being exposed as an child abuser.
Hope’s pal Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) was the person to expose Megan’s inappropriate relationship with Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) but instead of supporting him, she decided to imply that Megan and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) were colluding against him.
Hope said that Daniel was only being kind to Sam because he was trying to extort information out of him regarding Megan, with the intention of telling her later.
Given Sam’s high levels of anxiety, it was a bad move from Hope, who sometimes cannot see that she’s actually done something quite harmful.
This side to Hope’s personality is revisited next week, as she ends up creating a problem for Daniel.
At school, when Daniel tells Hope that he suspects that she cheated on her poem and used AI, Hope retaliates with a snide remark about Megan.
Still struggling with the fact that he was in a relationship with an abuser, Daniel tries to take control and orders Hope to write another poem.
He’s further wound up though, as Hope makes one up about Daniel and Megan.

As Daniel tries to grab the paper out of her hand, Hope accuses him of assault, just as Mrs Crawshaw arrives and demands to know what’s going on.
It would appear the future of his career is hanging in the balance later in the week, as Daniel tells Ken Barlow (William Roache) about the disciplinary action Crawshaw took against him.
He later rants to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) about the situation but he ends up scaring young Bertie.
Daniel tells Ken and Adam that he’s heading to the Lakes to clear his head, and they agree to look after Bertie.
However, when he’s alone, Daniel shuts the world out with a bottle of whisky beside him.
What’s next for the character?
And will Hope take the comments back if she realises she’s made a mistake?
