Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock reunite to face a dark curse in Practical Magic 2.
The anticipated sequel comes nearly 27 years after the release of the original movie, which followed a pair of witch sisters, Sally Owens (Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Kidman), as they attempt to break their family’s curse which threatens to prevent them ever finding lasting love.
The Owens sisters will soon return to the big screen to confront a new curse that threatens to unravel their family once and for all.
The trailer for the new film opens with a narration from Bullock, who says: “I’m sure you’ve heard of the Owens family, the ones from Massachusetts, the ones their neighbours whisper are witches.”
She later tells The Hobbit star Lee Pace’s character: “Everyone we love dies.”
Kidman adds: “A really horrible death.
It’s not great for the Tinder bio.”
The pair star alongside Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest who appeared in the original film as aunt Frances and aunt Bridget respectively.
They are joined by Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams and The Kissing Booth’s Joey King.
The film is based on the Alice Hoffman novel, The Book Of Magic, and was directed by Susanne Bier with Kidman and Bullock among the producers for the film.
Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the original film, returned to write the script for the sequel alongside Succession’s Georgia Pritchett.
Practical Magic 2 will be released in the UK and Ireland on September 11 2026.
