Manchester United vs Leeds LIVE
Manchester United are out to consolidate their hold on third place in the Premier League this evening as they host Leeds at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are currently level on points with Aston Villa after they drew at the City Ground on Sunday, giving Michael Carrick’s side the opportunity to pull three points clear with a win here.
It has been over three weeks since United last played a competitive match, and they must quickly shake off the rust against a plucky Leeds side, who were in FA Cup action last weekend.
Carrick did keep his side busy during their layoff, though, sending those players not involved in international duty on a week-long training camp in Dublin.
He has been busy off the pitch, too, renewing Harry Maguire’s contract and continuing in talks with Kobbie Mainoo.
Leeds, meanwhile, are mired in a relegation battle and are just three points clear of the drop zone.
Victory tonight would not improve their league position at all, though it would double their points advantage to 18th-placed Tottenham.
