Another week, another ruck of soap fans wondering when Emmerdale and Coronation Street are on, as the schedule has changed again.
Although, in fairness, that’s been the case most weeks.
It certainly feels like the changes haven’t really stopped since the start of 2026.
Days after the launch of the new soap ‘power hour’ in January, the broadcasting channel revealed Corrie and Emmerdale’s schedules would be impacted as a result of sports.
Given that we’re only in the middle of April, there have been an awful lot of schedule altercations for Corrie and Emmerdale so far this year – and it’s not over yet!
And once the summer of sports begins, there will be even more!
But, until then, here’s everything you need to know about when the ITV soaps are on this week, why they’re not airing this evening, and the drama unfolding in the Dales and Weatherfield over the next few days.
Corrie and Emmerdale will air on as normal on Monday to Thursday, with Emmerdale airing at 8pm and then Corrie following afterwards at 8:30pm for half an hour, and you’ll be able to view the episodes on ITVX or YouTube, too.
Neither soap will air on Friday, however.
This is because the I’m A Celebrity…South Africa finale is airing instead at 7:30pm.
What is happening in the ITV soaps this week?
It’s been a dramatic start to the week for the residents of Weatherfield, not least of all for the Driscoll family.
They learned on Sunday night that the CPS won’t be charging Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) for her disgusting sexual abuse of Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale), while yesterday’s episode saw Maggie (Pauline McLynn) push Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) to bring Megan down, lest Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) do something stupid.

After finally having enough of Carl Webster’s (Jonathan Howard) treatment of his wife, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) took matters into his own hands, landing Carl in the hospital and Debbie dealing with a blackmail threat.
While she stood up to Carl today, branding him ‘unlovable’, and he took a pitiful revenge which’ll have a huge impact on Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) wedding, which we’ll see at the end of the week.
Of course, the week ends with the discover of a body, kicking off a special week of episodes which will reveal which villain has lost their life.
Over in the Dales, Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) life hangs in the balance when she goes into labour and is forced to give birth in a broken down lift, with only Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) to help.
Dr.
Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) is the only doctor available to help, but with her aware of Jacob Gallagher’s (Joe-Warren Plant) reporting of her vicious bullying, it’s clear she’s compromised prior to performing emergency surgery.
Elsewhere, Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) schemes to ensure April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) won’t need to wait for him should he receive a prison sentence, and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) struggles to adjust to a life without Butler’s farm.
